Forget loo paper people now is the time to stockpile on books!!
If we just so happen to be quarantined what better way is there to pass time, then to hunker down with a good book? So, I thought I would perform my civic duty and share my book recommendations with you.
1. What I know for sure – Oprah Winfrey
This book is a quick but powerful and thought provoking read. This one is 100% going to uplift you at this time. Don’t we all need a bit of Oprah positivity in our life right now?
2. The Alchemist – Paulo Coelho
This was an unusual read for me but timely. I found it was a break I needed from business books. Without giving away too much this is a story about pursuing your personal legend and the challenges that come with that. Pretty timely!
3. The 4 Disciplines of Execution – Chris McChesney, Sean Covey & Jim Huling
I’m always talking about this one and there is good reason for it. The 4 Disciplines of Execution is arguably the most extensive study and research on what it really takes to execute. The authors take you through the system they developed and have proven combats that pesky strategy-execution gap.
4. Your brain at Work – David Rock
This book was a game changer for me. It helps me understand how my brain works, how to better navigate work situations and emotions.
The very simple but powerful exercises help reframe situations, create positive habits and help develop vital leadership skills.
At this point in time with heightened emotions it is a must read.
5. The One Thing – Gary Keller & Jay Papasan
We live in a world of “busy” and we know from the research too many goals mean we do not achieve any of them. Warren Buffet and Bill Gates credit their success to focus. The ONE thing brings that all important focus we all need and helps identify which one of the 1,000,000 things on your list to lead with. Right now where many of us are feeling overwhelemed this will help simplify your world.
